Filming for the television series Bridgerton at a country mansion has prompted complaints from residents in Hertfordshire, the Daily Mail reported. Police were called to the scene after villagers noticed a substantial volume of artificial smoke coming from the property. [1]

The production takes place at North Mymms Park, an Elizabethan mansion in a parish with fewer than 9,000 residents, according to the Daily Mail. The location has hosted scenes for the character of the Duke of Hastings, as well as productions such as The Crown, Ludwig, Wonka, and the HBO series War. [1]

North Mymms Park is a Grade I listed building. In the United Kingdom, a listed building is a structure recognized for architectural or historical interest that receives special statutory protection. [1][2]

The Netflix period drama Bridgerton first premiered in December 2020 and became one of the streaming platform's most watched English language series. The production continues to film new material at the site despite local frustration over camera crews and smoke. [1][5]
