Boy dies and four critical after Bronx apartment fire

A boy has died and four members of his family are in critical condition following an apartment fire in the Bronx early Wednesday morning, the New York Post reported. NBC New York similarly reported that a teenage boy died and four other people were left critical after the apartment fire. The New York Post reported that approximately 130 fire and EMS personnel responded to 320 Morris Avenue shortly after 12:50 a.m. The emergency services were responding to a blaze that broke out in an 11th-floor apartment inside the Patterson Houses complex, according to the FDNY. [1]

Two adults and three boys were rescued from the building and are believed to belong to the same family, according to WABC as cited by the New York Post. The FDNY did not confirm the exact relationships between the victims. One boy was pronounced dead after being rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition, while another boy remains in critical condition. [1]
