According to UPI, the movie is a film adaptation of the 2014 play Switzerland, written by Joanna Murray-Smith. Ehrenreich stated that he wanted to take the role because it allowed him to work alongside Helen Mirren and play two completely different characters. [1]
In the film, Ehrenreich portrays Edward Ridgeway, an editor sent by a New York publisher to convince the famous author Patricia Highsmith, played by Mirren, to write a final book in her series, UPI reported. [1]
Ehrenreich began his acting career with an appearance on the television program Supernatural in 2005 before appearing in Francis Ford Coppola's film Tetro in 2009. Mirren, who was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2003, previously won an Academy Award for her performance in the 2006 film The Queen. [2][8][9]
