Zach Lipovsky and Adam B Stein Return With Sequel Freaks 2

Filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam B Stein are returning with Freaks 2, the sequel to their breakout 2018 sci-fi thriller Freaks. The original film launched their careers as bankable horror directors and writers after debuting at the Vancouver Film Festival, according to the Hollywood Reporter. [1][3]

The 2018 dark sci-fi thriller Freaks starred Emile Hirsch and Bruce Dern and became an unlikely box office success. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the original movie grossed over 375 million dollars worldwide during its theatrical run. Lipovsky stated from the Sony Pictures studio lot in Culver City, California, that the film changed their lives. [1]

Stein is an American filmmaker and film editor who works as a longtime collaborator alongside Lipovsky. Their sequel, Freaks Part II, served as the closing film for the 30th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, which took place from July 16 to August 2, 2026. [1][5][6]
