White House officials went into damage limitation mode over the weekend following the departure of White House press secretary Katie Zacharia, the Washington Examiner reported. According to the Daily Mail, Zacharia stepped into the role on a Monday but was asked to resign by Friday. The Washington Examiner added that officials sought to limit the fallout to protect Chief of Staff Susie Wiles. [1][2]

Zacharia faced scrutiny following her initial briefing and revelations that she had never passed the bar exam despite describing herself as an attorney, the Daily Mail reported. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Zacharia admitted that she did not pass the legal exam and stated she was underprepared for her first briefing. The Daily Mail and The Washington Post both reported that Zacharia faced further controversy after sharing photos of herself with President Donald Trump that appeared to show sensitive information, including a map on his desk that was blurred and later removed. [2][3][10][11]

Donald Trump took office as the 47th president of the United States on January 20, 2025. Zacharia became the shortest serving White House press secretary in United States history after her five day tenure. [8][10]

Trump is scheduled to travel to Kansas on Monday to hold a rally in Wichita, the Washington Examiner reported. [1]
