West Ham United have appointed their former midfielder Scott Parker as head coach on a two-and-a-half-year contract, BBC News reported. His appointment comes after the club sacked head coach Nuno Espirito Santo following a 3-1 defeat by West Bromwich Albion, according to reports from BBC Sport and The Guardian. [1][2][4]

Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville and Billy Lepine will serve as first-team assistant coaches under Parker, BBC News reported. Sporting director Mark Noble, a former team-mate of Parker, will also work closely with him, while the club plans to make further announcements regarding the backroom staff in the coming days. [1]

Parker called his return a very proud moment for himself and his family, adding that his relationship with the fanbase stood out during his previous time at the club, BBC News reported. West Ham currently sit eighth in the Championship, four points off the automatic promotion spots, according to The Guardian. [1][3][4]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, West Ham dismissed the 52-year-old Nuno after being relegated from the Premier League last season. Nuno had taken charge of the London club in September 2025 as the successor to Graham Potter, according to The Guardian. [2][4][15]
