West Ham United have sacked head coach Nuno Espirito Santo following a disappointing start to their Championship season, multiple outlets including BBC News, The Guardian, and the Daily Mail reported. The 52-year-old manager had been in charge of the club since September 2025, according to BBC News, The Guardian, and the Daily Mail. [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]

BBC News, The Guardian, and the Daily Mail all reported that West Ham were considered promotion favourites but sit eighth in the Championship table. The decision follows consecutive home losses, including a 3-1 defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, according to BBC News and The Guardian. BBC News added that the team also recently lost 3-2 to Southampton and has won only two of its last six matches. [1][2][3][4]

Nuno failed to save West Ham from relegation from the Premier League last season after replacing Graham Potter in September 2025, according to The Guardian. Nuno Herlander Simoes Espirito Santo is a Portuguese football manager and former professional player. [1][2][3][4][10]

The Guardian and the Daily Mail both reported that West Ham are poised to appoint Scott Parker as their new manager. Parker has been out of work since leaving Burnley last season. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Parker left Burnley prior to the appointment of Nicky Hayen in July. [3][4][13]

The Guardian reported that West Ham hope Parker will be in place before the team visits Cardiff City on Wednesday. [4]
