Ukrainian residents in Trabolgan face mandatory catered meal rules
Ukrainian families staying in the Trabolgan holiday village in East Cork must switch to fully catered meals that take up their complete food allowance.

Ukrainian families living in the former Trabolgan holiday village in East Cork will no longer be permitted to cook their own food, the Irish Examiner reported. Residents are instead being compelled to buy fully catered meals, a change that causes considerable concern among those staying at the location. [1]
According to the Irish Examiner, the mandated catered meals will consume the residents' entire food allowance. The decision comes shortly after confirmation earlier this month that many residents in Trabolgan had been granted permission to remain at the site. [1]
The Irish Examiner noted that the reprieve for residents came after the Government announced a phased wind-down of State-contracted commercial accommodation. Social Democrats TD Liam Quaide previously joined Ukrainian family members who received notice in June that they would have to leave the accommodation. [1]
In short
- Ukrainian families in Trabolgan are no longer allowed to prepare their own food.
- Residents must buy catered meals using their full food allowance.
- Many Trabolgan residents were granted permission to stay following a phased wind-down of State-contracted accommodation.
