Iraqi national Mohammed Yaseen has been allowed to stay in the United Kingdom on human rights grounds despite posing a danger to the country, the Daily Mail and AOL.co.uk reported. The Daily Mail reported on October 18 that Yaseen was seen shopping at a Co-op store located near Windsor Castle. British courts heard that Yaseen poses a danger to the entire public. [1][2]
According to the Daily Mail, Yaseen has been involved in terrorist activities since the age of 16. He was a member of an Al Qaeda faction involved in the beheading of British citizen Ken Bigley. He subsequently joined Isis, where he became part of a unit responsible for public executions, stonings, and mass killings. [1]
Authorities allowed Yaseen to remain in the United Kingdom due to legal concerns that his life would be endangered if he were deported to his home country, the Daily Mail reported. [1]
Most terrorist incidents in Great Britain during the 21st century have been connected to Islamic fundamentalism. That contrast with the late 20th century, when the majority of violent attacks were carried out by Irish Republican Army groups connected to the conflict in Northern Ireland. [4]
In short
- Mohammed Yaseen was allowed to stay in the United Kingdom on human rights grounds.
- Yaseen was previously a member of Al Qaeda and Isis.
- British courts heard that Yaseen posed a danger to the public.
