A court has heard that a trail of blood more than a mile long led to a dying headteacher who was struck and dragged underneath a vehicle in Manchester. The Daily Mail reported that 56 year old Michael Mullins was cycling home from Stretford Grammar School on the evening of April 20 when he was hit by a black Volvo XC90. [1]
According to the Daily Mail, 35 year old Simon Richardson allegedly drove at speed through give-way markers at a junction in Warburton, Altrincham, before hitting the headteacher. Prosecutors allege that the driver knew Mr Mullins was beneath the wheels of the car but deliberately kept driving, reaching speeds of up to 60mph. [1]
A trail is usually a path, track, or dirt road designed primarily for pedestrians, equestrians, and non-motorized vehicles through natural areas. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, footpath or hiking trail is commonly the preferred term for such routes. [2]
