London North Eastern Railway staff member Samir Zitouni told jurors he used a frying pan against a man accused of attempting to kill 10 people on a train, the BBC reported. The attack occurred on a London-bound service that made an unscheduled stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. [1][2][3]
Zitouni said in a video interview played at Cambridge Crown Court that he tried to hit the knife held by 33-year-old Anthony Williams to prevent him from passing, according to the BBC. Zitouni said he did not want to give up until the train stopped. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, jurors previously saw CCTV footage of Zitouni defending passengers with the frying pan. The court also heard evidence that a passenger texted transport police about a man behaving erratically on a train the night before the attack. [2][3]
Williams, of Langford Road in Peterborough, denies 10 counts of attempted murder relating to the train incident, the BBC reported. He also denies four counts of attempted murder connected to earlier incidents in Peterborough and London. [1][2][3]

- Samir Zitouni used a frying pan to protect passengers from an armed attacker on a train.
- Anthony Williams is on trial at Cambridge Crown Court facing 14 total counts of attempted murder.
