Singer Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live during the opening monologue hosted by actress Dakota Johnson, according to reports from Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter. Johnson was hosting the episode alongside musical guest Turnstile, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard. [1][2][3][5][8]

During the monologue, Johnson joked about her past public breakups and stated she had supportive friends who do not judge her, before introducing Swift as her literal therapist, according to Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. The Hollywood Reporter said Swift responded by clarifying that she was not Johnson's therapist. Variety and The Hollywood Reporter both reported that Swift also gave a subtle salute to Travis Kelce during the appearance. [2][3]

Deadline reported that the appearance coincided with Johnson turning 37 years old on Sunday. Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter all noted that Johnson previously co-starred in Swift's Patient Zero music video. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Johnson appeared alongside actor Colin Farrell in behind-the-scenes footage for the music video, which was released in September 2026. [1][2][3][12]

Johnson recently starred in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover's novel Verity, as reported by Entertainment Weekly and as FTMQ News reported earlier. Billboard reported that the episode aired on Saturday, Oct. 3. [1][3][5][6][13]
