Sophie Cunningham Criticizes A'ja Wilson Over WNBA Fan Incident

Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has publicly criticized Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson following a heated altercation between Wilson and a Fever fan during Game 2 of their playoff series. Bleacher Report and Yahoo Sports both reported that Cunningham spoke out on a podcast episode, telling the four-time WNBA MVP to grow up. [1][2][3][4][6][7]

According to Yahoo Sports, Cunningham stated that the league applied a double standard by failing to punish or suspend Wilson for her actions during the confrontation. Cunningham argued on her podcast that the WNBA did not suspend Wilson because she is equivalent to the LeBron James of the league. [2][4][5][6]

The comments were made after the Indiana Fever were eliminated from playoff contention by the Las Vegas Aces. Bleacher Report also noted that Indiana Fever general manager Amber Cox defended the team's fanbase, stating that attacks against fans have no basis in reality. [1][3][7]
