Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark spoke to reporters on Thursday during her season ending news conference in Indianapolis. Fox News and CBS Sports both report that Clark addressed topics including fan rhetoric and her management of online noise. CBS Sports noted that the interview lasted just over 20 minutes and took place one week after the Fever ended their season. [1][2]

During the news conference, Clark condemned racist rhetoric and discrimination, Fox News reported. Fox News also reported that Clark said she cannot remember the last time she read a direct message on social media and mentioned that she enjoys getting booed by opposing fans on the road. [1]

Clark was born on January 22, 2002, in Des Moines, Iowa. She played college basketball for the Iowa Hawkeyes, where she became the NCAA Division I all time leading scorer, and now plays professionally for the Indiana Fever in the Women's National Basketball Association. [8][10]

CBS Sports reported that Clark had previously missed the team's initial exit interviews due to a television appearance on ESPN's College GameDay in Iowa City last Saturday. Bleacher Report added that Clark also defended teammate Kelsey Mitchell during a video appearance following remarks concerning negative messages from fans. [2][6]
