Representatives for actor Selma Blair issued a statement saying she did not intend to harm anyone during a recent flight, according to reports by the Guardian and Fox News. The statement characterized the episode as a medical emergency on a Delta Air Lines flight traveling from Los Angeles to New York. [1][3]

The Guardian reported that the statement called previous media coverage unsympathetic and inaccurate. Fox News added that the representative said authorities took her service dog following her arrest, and the Daily Mail reported that Blair pleaded not guilty on Monday to two counts of second degree assault for allegedly kicking an officer and a hospital nurse. [1][2][3]

The Daily Mail also reported that the actress was accused of punching and biting crew members aboard the aircraft bound for JFK airport and attempting to open a plane door mid-flight. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Blair was taken into custody at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday and taken to a local hospital for evaluation. [2][15]

Blair is an American actress known for her roles in films including Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde. In 2018, she disclosed her diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, a chronic autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. [13][14]

Following the statement, Blair appeared at 90s Con in Connecticut on Friday, the Daily Mail reported. She posed for photos with fans but refused to answer questions about the event on the flight. [6]
