Search Underway for Missing Medical Jet Off Massachusetts Coast

The United States Coast Guard is searching for an air ambulance jet carrying six people that disappeared off the coast of Massachusetts, The Guardian and NBC News reported on Saturday. The aircraft was conducting a medical evacuation flight from Bermuda to Boston when air traffic controllers lost contact early in the morning. [1][2]

According to The Guardian, the Federal Aviation Administration lost contact with the aircraft, which was identified as a Gulfstream G-100 jet. A spokesperson for the agency told The Guardian that officials issued a search and rescue alert notice for the aircraft at approximately 1:20 am local time. [1]
