Russell Brand applied to transfer main asset weeks before rape conviction

Russell Brand applied to transfer the ownership of his 5 million pound Oxfordshire home to his 39-year-old wife, Laura Gallacher, six weeks before he was convicted of rape and sexual assault, the Daily Mail reported. Land Registry documents indicate that the 51-year-old former comedian attempted to transfer the asset prior to his conviction. [1]

The Daily Express reported that prosecutors in the United States could pursuit criminal proceedings against Brand. A civil lawsuit was filed in the US by a woman who stated that Brand sexually assaulted her on the set of the 2011 film Arthur. The Sun reported that the lawsuit claims Brand said having sex with multiple women was part of the lineage of celebrated male behavior. [3]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, Brand was convicted of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault. Scotland Yard chief Sir Mark Rowley said he expects more victims to come forward, as police investigate two further rape allegations for which Brand has been interviewed under caution. Brand is an English former actor and comedian who hosted Big Brother's Big Mouth and appeared in films including Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Death on the Nile. The Daily Mail noted that Brand's multi-million pound fortune could face decimation following his criminal conviction. [1][9]
