Georgina Baillie speaks out following Russell Brand criminal conviction

Georgina Baillie, the granddaughter of the late Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs, has spoken out following the conviction of Russell Brand for rape and sexual assault, the Daily Mail and AOL.co.uk reported. Baillie was the woman at the centre of a broadcast scandal when Brand made a phone call to her grandfather to discuss their sex life. The Daily Mail reported that she was a 21-year-old performer in a burlesque group called the Satanic Sluts when she first encountered Brand. [1][8]

The Daily Mail reported that Baillie described Brand as a seriously unwell sex addict whose actions ruined her life. Her grandfather, Andrew Sachs, gained widespread fame on British television for his role as the Spanish waiter Manuel in the comedy series Fawlty Towers. [1][13][14]

The legal aftermath of the trial also saw Brand's barrister, Ian Winter KC, report himself to a professional regulator after confronting Sunday Times journalist Rosamund Urwin outside court, according to the Guardian and thejournal.ie. The Guardian reported that UK publishers have withdrawn Brand's books following his criminal conviction, while Fox News reported that police interrogation video footage has emerged as new rape investigations loom.
