RTE reported that Revenue has announced a new two euro union handling fee on goods purchased online from outside the European Union. The new fee will be applied starting on November 1st. [1]
According to RTE, this new fee follows a separate three euro customs charge that came into effect in July this year for online goods originating outside the European Union. RTÉ Consumer Affairs Correspondent Aengus Cox explained that the new fee increases the total cost for consumers, bringing the fee to five euros per item. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, separate legal action is also proceeding involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who is challenging police search warrants in the High Court. Mountbatten-Windsor is taking legal action against Thames Valley Police to quash search warrants used during his arrest earlier this year. A private High Court hearing on the challenge is scheduled for Thursday. [6]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The arrest was made in relation to allegations that he shared sensitive information with Jeffrey Epstein. [6]
