Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski has called on Europe to construct a deterrence system akin to Cold War doctrines to counter artificial intelligence powered cyberattacks, Euronews reported. Gawkowski, who also serves as Poland's digital affairs minister, described the technology as a force multiplier that requires a complete rethink of security across the continent. [1]

Euronews reported that Gawkowski expects the volume of cyberattacks targeting Poland to increase tenfold in 2027. He attributed the projection to the development of frontier large language models. [1]

Separate reports from TVP World, Yahoo News Singapore, Euronews.com, and LIGA.net highlight broader security concerns from Polish officials. TVP World reported that European Parliament President Roberta Metsola told the Sejm that when Poland is threatened, Europe is threatened. Yahoo News Singapore, Euronews.com, and LIGA.net also reported that Poland has warned allies against negotiating peace with Russia without Eastern Europe participating. [2][4][5][7]

Russia has previously used hybrid warfare to foster instability in other nations while avoiding all-out war, according to background details from Wikipedia. [9]
