New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli has pledged to continue investing state pension funds in Israel bonds, according to the New York Post. The decision comes despite increasing pressure from pro-Palestinian activists, including Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who are calling for divestment. [1]

The New York Post reported that DiNapoli defended holding the Israeli government bonds within the state pension fund, which total $309.7 billion in portfolio assets. Comptroller Mark Levine previously stated that he would not reinvest city pension funds into Israel bonds. [1]

DiNapoli serves as the 54th New York State Comptroller. He has held the office since 2007 and is the second longest-serving comptroller in the history of New York State. [2]

State and city comptrollers are tasked with managing pension investments for public employees, according to the New York Post. [1]
