A 47 year old woman in Oakland County, Michigan, won a 150,000 dollar prize after using birthday money to play an online lottery game. UPI, Michigan Lottery Connect, and Midland Daily News all reported on the win. [1][2][3]
The player explained that her aunt had sent her a birthday card containing cash a few days earlier, according to UPI. She used the funds to purchase an online game card and placed a single 20 dollar wager on the Lucky Coins Disco Pig online instant game, UPI, Michigan Lottery Connect, and Midland Daily News reported. [1][2][3]
When the game ended, the screen displayed a 150,000 dollar payout, UPI reported. The woman told lottery officials that she initially questioned if she was playing in demo mode before realizing the win was real. [1]
The win follows a separate lottery payout earlier this month, as FTMQ News reported earlier, when a worker in Rock Hill, South Carolina, won 500,000 dollars from a ten dollar scratch off ticket. [6]
