Melania Trump complained after friends were deported under US crackdown

First Lady Melania Trump complained to President Donald Trump earlier this year that people she knew were being arrested and deported from the United States, the Wall Street Journal reported, as cited by the Daily Mail. Following the conversation, Donald Trump told aides that deputy White House chief of staff Stephen Miller had gone too far with his immigration policies, according to reports by the Daily Mail, AOL, and Yahoo. Stephen Miller has orchestrated an expansive immigration crackdown from the West Wing with the president's support, the Daily Mail reported. Miller serves as White House deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security advisor, and previously worked as a senior advisor to the president during Donald Trump's first term. [1][12]

The news comes as Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky awarded Melania Trump the Order of Princess Olga, 1st Degree, UPI and the South China Morning Post reported. The decree cited her significant personal contribution to humanitarian support for Ukraine, including aiding displaced children and helping to broker a local ceasefire to evacuate civilians from an occupied town. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Melania Trump is scheduled to host representatives from Ukraine and Russia at the White House on Thursday ahead of upcoming peace talks in Abu Dhabi. [4][16][17]
