Masked thieves forcibly stole Halloween candy from children in Oregon

A group of thieves dressed in all-black clothing and ski masks stole candy bags from children who were trick-or-treating in Lincoln City, Oregon, on Halloween night. The New York Post reported that the Lincoln City Police Department confirmed receiving multiple reports from local residents regarding the incidents. [1]

According to the Lincoln City Police Department, residents reported that the individuals were forcibly taking candy baskets directly from the costumed children. Police shared details about the ongoing investigation in a statement posted on Facebook. [1]

The holiday thefts follow earlier seasonal events across the country. As FTMQ News reported earlier, President Donald Trump and Melania Trump hosted an annual Halloween celebration for trick-or-treaters at the White House South Lawn, where they handed out chocolate bars to visitors. [2]

Public safety concerns regarding thieves targeting unsuspecting victims have also surfaced in other cities recently. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Chicago police issued a business alert after thieves posing as charity workers stole credit cards and valuables from customers at local restaurants. [3]
