Former Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene stated that a White House personnel shuffle by US President Donald Trump will sink the party in the 2028 presidential election, Al Jazeera reported. Greene, previously a key MAGA ally, said the political move is engineered to control the party and its future direction. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Donald Trump appointed Stephen Miller as White House chief of staff on Friday. Miller replaces Susie Wiles in the position. The appointment followed midterm elections on Tuesday where Democrats gained control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate. [4]
Miller has served as the White House deputy chief of staff for policy and homeland security advisor since 2025. He previously worked as a senior advisor to the president and director of speechwriting between 2017 and 2021 during the first Trump administration. [2][4]
The personnel changes follow significant midterm losses for Republicans. In Texas, Democratic state representative James Talarico defeated Republican state attorney general Ken Paxton in the 2026 United States Senate election on November 3. In Ohio, Democrat Brian Poindexter defeated Republican incumbent Max Miller in the 7th Congressional District, winning 54.1 percent to 45.9 percent. [3][5]
