New York Governor Kathy Hochul responded on Friday after video footage captured Democratic candidate Cait Conley agreeing with her Republican opponent that the incumbent governor needs to leave office. The New York Post reported that Hochul dismissed suggestions that she is hurting fellow Democrats running in the upcoming election. Conley is competing against incumbent Republican Representative Mike Lawler for New York's 17th House District seat. [1][2][3][4]
During a debate forum, Lawler stated that the governor has got to go, prompting Conley to express agreement. VINnews and Yahoo both reported that Conley publicly criticized Hochul during the exchange with Lawler. The New York Post reported that Hochul told reporters she does not lose sleep over other people's debates and added that she does not care about the forum exchange. [1][2][3]
Conley is a politician and former national security official who served as an Army special operations officer and as a national security adviser in the Biden administration, as FTMQ News reported earlier. Lawler has served as the United States representative for New York's 17th district since 2023. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Conley previously called Donald Trump and Republicans the greatest threat to America during her campaign against Lawler. [4][6]
