Judge temporarily halts tree removal at East Potomac Golf Links

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., ordered a temporary halt on Monday to tree cutting at East Potomac Golf Links. District Judge Ana C. Reyes issued a minute order ahead of a scheduled hearing, requiring the Trump administration to stop removing trees until Tuesday morning, the Washington Examiner reported. [1]

The pause comes after the National Park Service began cutting down hundreds of trees on the golf course on Saturday, according to the Washington Examiner. The court order is part of an ongoing legal dispute between the Trump administration and historic preservationists over the site, the Washington Examiner reported. The East Potomac Golf Links is located in East Potomac Park in Washington, D.C., and features an 18-hole course, two 9-hole courses, and a miniature golf course. The original nine-hole course opened in 1921, and it is the busiest of the three golf courses operated in the city. [1][7]
