Israel promotes online film to counter documentary on Gaza killings

The Israeli government is promoting an online film project that mimics the style of NAZA, an award-winning documentary detailing mass killings of civilians in Gaza, the Guardian and Roya News reported. Israeli embassies have posted links to the online film in an effort to counter the findings of the original documentary. [1][5]

The original documentary was written and directed by Oscar-winning filmmakers Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, and was produced by the Guardian and JW Films. The film investigates the integration of artificial intelligence and automated surveillance in military targeting systems used by the Israel Defense Forces during the Gaza war. [1][7]

The documentary NAZA has opened in cinemas in the United States and is set to be shown in more than 50 countries, according to the Guardian and TRT World. IslamiCity reported that the film won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice Film Festival. [1][3][4]
