California Governor Gavin Newsom addressed the recent departure of his ex-wife Kimberly Guilfoyle from her role as the United States ambassador to Greece, the Daily Mail reported. Speaking to a reporter while campaigning for fellow Democrats in New Hampshire, Newsom said he did not know enough about the situation, noted he had not spoken with her recently, and wished her the best. [1][8]

Newsom and Guilfoyle were married from 2001 to 2005, the Daily Mail reported. Guilfoyle served as ambassador to Greece starting in 2025 until her resignation in October 2026. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Guilfoyle was asked to resign from her diplomatic post following allegations and currently faces a defamation lawsuit filed by Eric Deters. [1][9][13][14]

Newsom has served as the 40th governor of California since 2019, after working as the state's lieutenant governor and as the mayor of San Francisco. Guilfoyle previously worked as a media personality and served as an advisor and fundraising lead for the Donald Trump 2020 presidential campaign. [8][9]
