Former United States Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle sought support from high-profile conservative figures to save her diplomatic position prior to leaving her post, the Daily Mail reported. Guilfoyle made calls to United States Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, and Rupert Murdoch, the chairman emeritus of Fox News. According to two sources cited by the Daily Mail, she requested moral support and asked Barrack and Hegseth to appeal directly to President Donald Trump on her behalf. President Trump did not answer her calls. [1]

Mediaite reported that a Republican donor released audio recordings containing allegations from a party official in Greece, which contributed to her departure. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Guilfoyle was asked to resign as the United States ambassador to Greece in October 2026. FTMQ News also previously reported that she faces a defamation lawsuit filed by Eric Deters, along with calls from Democrats for official investigations into her conduct. [5][8][9]

The 57-year-old media personality and politician held the ambassador role in Greece from 2025 until her resignation in 2026, according to Wikipedia. She previously advised Donald Trump and led the fundraising division for his 2020 presidential campaign. [1][6]
