Foothill High School Football Team Forfeits Seven Wins Over Ineligible Players

The California Interscholastic Federation stripped the Foothill High School football team of its undefeated seven and zero record, the New York Post and 23ABC News Bakersfield reported. The governing body ruled that the Bakersfield school had fielded two ineligible players. Because of the ruling, the team was required to forfeit all seven of its victories this season. [1][3]

According to the New York Post, Foothill High School athletic director Mike Biezard said the governing body had originally cleared both players to compete. Biezard stated that the school later received a letter from the organization that reversed the decision and declared both players ineligible. [1]

Foothill High School is located in Bakersfield, California, and serves students in grades nine through twelve. [5]
