European Commission and Ukraine launch task force to accelerate accession reforms
The European Commission and Ukraine have created a joint task force to speed up anti-corruption and rule of law reforms required for accession to the European Union.

The European Commission announced on Friday that it has launched a joint task force with Ukraine to accelerate work on European Union accession reforms. Euronews reported that officials from both the European Union and Ukraine will meet twice a week to help Kyiv complete necessary tasks regarding anti-corruption measures and the rule of law. [1]
positional approval came after Hungary lifted its veto on opening additional negotiating clusters for Ukraine. Euronews reported that European Union member states agreed earlier this week to open two negotiating clusters, with the final two expected to be opened by the end of the year. [1]
This step follows previous progress on accession requirements. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Ukraine's parliament passed a minority rights law with 266 votes to strengthen language protections in schools and cultural events, which eased tensions with Hungary and paved the way for further accession discussions. [10]
In separate financial developments, The European Sting and Defence Industry Europe reported that the European Commission disbursed 2.86 billion euros to Ukraine. Defence Industry Europe detailed that these funds were released under a 90 billion euro support loan programme to address urgent battlefield needs, including drones, missiles, and air defence. [4][5]
