US President Donald Trump concluded his midterm campaign on Monday by labeling Democratic candidates the most extreme and dangerous in American history. DW and the South China Morning Post both reported that Trump made his final remarks ahead of the November 3 elections at the newly renovated Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington. [1][2]

Trump also attempted to lower expectations for his party, DW reported. He stated that a sitting president usually does not win during midterm elections. [1]

The final public address comes as Republicans attempt to protect their 53 to 47 majority in the Senate. The Irish Times reported that Democrats face internal political friction in Michigan, where Representative Haley Stevens switched her support to Republican candidate Mike Rogers following a primary loss. [4]

The United States Supreme Court rejected a late effort to stop California from counting mail-in ballots, according to the Irish Times. The Washington Post reported that Democrats are currently favored to capture the Senate, while as FTMQ News reported earlier, all 435 House seats and 35 Senate seats are up for election. [3][4][13]
