Catholic bishops gather in Oval Office to pray over Donald Trump

Catholic bishops and archbishops gathered in the Oval Office to pray for United States President Donald Trump and the country on Thursday, 22 October. Euronews reported that video footage shared by White House official Margo Martin showed the religious leaders surrounding Donald Trump at his desk during the prayer. [1]

According to Denver Catholic, Denver Archbishop James Golka was among the religious leaders present at the meeting. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel added that Milwaukee Archbishop Jeffrey Grob also joined the bishops praying with Donald Trump in the Oval Office. National Catholic Reporter noted that the White House shared the video ahead of elections. [1][3][6][7]

The prayer gathering follows recent tension in the same room. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Donald Trump exchanged sharp words with The Independent reporter Andrew Feinberg during an Oval Office event. MSNBC reported that Donald Trump barked at Andrew Feinberg and removed him from the White House press pool, while the White House subsequently barred Andrew Feinberg and CNN from covering selected rallies. The Oval Office serves as the formal working space of the president of the United States. Located at the southeast corner of the West Wing of the White House in Washington, D.C., it is part of the Executive Office of the President. [8]
