Video game publisher Capcom plans to integrate artificial intelligence into its game development workflows, according to The Verge. Speaking at the Capcom Open Conference RE: 2026, programmer Satoshi Ishida outlined the company strategy during a presentation about the future of the RE Engine and the REX Project. The Verge reported that the studio is preparing to create games together with artificial intelligence. [1]

The plans center on expanding Capcom's internal development tools. The Verge noted that although Capcom's game Pragmata deals with themes about artificial intelligence, the developer is embracing the technology in practice. Satoshi Ishida delivered the presentation under the title The Outlook and Future of the REX Project, Further Evolving the RE Engine. [1]

Capcom is an established interactive entertainment publisher behind several major gaming franchises. Its horror series Resident Evil has sold over 142 million units, while Monster Hunter has reached more than 90 million sales and Street Fighter has sold 49 million units.
