Brewers rally with home runs to win NLDS Game 1

The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the San Diego Padres 3-2 in Game 1 of the National League Division Series on Saturday, WBAY reported. WBAY and FTMQ News reported earlier that the Brewers edged out the win following a late comeback, despite Milwaukee ranking near the bottom of MLB in home runs during the regular season. [1][9][17]

San Diego took an early lead by scoring two runs in the second inning against Milwaukee starter Jacob Misiorowski, according to World Baseball Network. Milwaukee later responded with home runs from Jackson Chourio and William Contreras to take the lead, Yahoo Sports reported. [1][11][17]

The game ended with a unusual play in the ninth inning. WBAY and CBS Sports both report that a ninth-inning fly ball hit by Ty France struck a roof railing and was caught for an out, preserving the victory for Milwaukee. [5][6][9][17]

Misiorowski pitched in the game after setting multiple records during his professional career. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Misiorowski set a new record for the fastest pitch thrown in postseason history, building on a regular season in which he became the first pitcher in MLB history to throw 1,000 pitches at 100 miles per hour or faster.
