Arsenal secured a 1-0 victory away at Liverpool on Sunday to move three points clear at the top of the Premier League table. Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the match in the 16th minute by converting a low cross from Declan Rice. The win marked Arsenal's first victory at Anfield since September 2012, as reported by BBC Sport, Al Jazeera, and The Guardian. [2][3][8]

Al Jazeera reported that current Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta captained the club during their previous victory at Anfield in 2012. Before Sunday's match, Arsenal had failed to win in their past 13 visits to the stadium, as Al Jazeera and BBC Sport noted. [2][3]

The match included several controversial incidents. BBC News and Sky Sports reported that Liverpool had a penalty claim denied after Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber pulled the shirt of Alexander Isak. Football365 noted that Virgil van Dijk criticized VAR after the match, while Sky Sports reported on a separate incident between Noni Madueke and Alexis Mac Allister. [1][10][11]

The result brought an end to Liverpool's five-match winning streak in all competitions, according to irishtimes.com. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Arsenal entered the match as the reigning Premier League champions. [5][15]
