The Aramco Tower in Riyadh was damaged by falling debris on Sunday, France 24 reported. The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen's Houthi rebels intercepted two ballistic missiles heading toward the capital city's financial district, according to France 24. [1][14]

The missile attack follows Saudi air strikes near Sanaa a day earlier that killed at least 33 people, France 24 reported. Al Jazeera separately noted that the Aramco tower was damaged during an attack originating from Yemen. [1][7]

The capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh has served as the Saudi capital since 1824. The armed conflict involving the Saudi military forces and Houthi forces in Yemen began after the Saudi-led intervention in 2015. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Saudi Arabia previously faced Houthi missile strikes in Riyadh that caused casualties and airport disruptions. [14][15][18][19]

Separate military reports cited by Arab News indicate that Saudi air defenses also intercepted a ballistic missile and a drone in the Riyadh region a day earlier. [4]
