Artificial intelligence company Anthropic made its public filing for an initial public offering with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission on October 26, 2026. The S-1 filing publicizes the organization's plans to list its shares on the Nasdaq stock exchange, according to reports from UPI, Fox Business, and The Paypers. [1][2][4]

In the regulatory documents, Anthropic warned about potential safety hazards concerning the development of advanced technology. UPI reported that the company disclosed concerns that creating artificial intelligence models without sufficient safeguards could harm its business prospects and pose catastrophic or existential risks to humanity. Anthropic also stated that its models are accelerating the pace of its internal research and development. [1]

Anthropic is an American public benefit corporation based in San Francisco, California. Former members of OpenAI, including siblings Daniela Amodei and Dario Amodei, founded the firm in January 2021 to promote artificial intelligence safety. The company is known for its flagship product Claude, a series of proprietary large language models, and introduced a technique called Constitutional AI in 2022 to train models using explicit natural-language principles. [7][8][9]

The company operates under a unique governance structure that includes a Board of Directors alongside an independent Long-Term Benefit Trust. As FTMQ News reported earlier, Anthropic previously updated its usage policy to prohibit users from engaging in sustained abusive behavior toward its artificial intelligence models. [8][9]
