Aldi signs five million euro contract extension with Limerick Twomey Bakery

Limerick business Twomey's Bakery has agreed to a two-year contract extension worth €5m with supermarket chain Aldi, as reported by the Irish Examiner, RTE, Checkout, Business Plus, and Live 95. The agreement extends and expands the existing supply arrangement between the two companies. [1][2][3][4][5]

Under the terms of the deal, Twomey's Bakery will increase the volume of products supplied to Aldi stores by 10%. The supplier provides the retailer with breads, cakes, and in-store baked items. [1]

The Irish Examiner reported that Twomey's Bakery has supplied Aldi stores since 2019. The bakery has been operated by the Twomey family since 2001 and currently employs more than 25 people in Dromcollogher. [1]

Managing director Patrick Twomey stated that the long-term commitment provides the business with certainty, according to the Irish Examiner. [1]
