Hundreds of Harry Potter fans lined Oxford Street overnight in London to attend the grand opening of the UK's largest themed superstore on November 4, 2026, the Daily Mail reported. Fans wore themed costumes and queued from late the previous night to enter the venue. Actors Warwick Davis and Tom Felton were among the film series stars present at the opening, according to the Daily Mail. The Irish Sun also reported that the site opened as the biggest Harry Potter shop in Europe. [1][5]

The Daily Mail reported that the flagship shop spans more than 21,000 square feet over two floors. Its interior design is inspired by Diagon Alley, the magical shopping street featured in the hit book series written by J. K. Rowling. Warwick Davis played Professor Filius Flitwick and the goblin Griphook in the Harry Potter film series. [1][7][8]

The store opening comes alongside other developments surrounding the franchise and its London location. Variety reported that Funko launched a mystery collectible series featuring characters such as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley. Meanwhile, Oxford Street has recently undergone pedestrianisation spearheaded by London mayor Sadiq Khan, as reported by irishtimes.com and London Evening Standard. [2][3][4]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, HBO is scheduled to premiere a new television series based on the books on December 25. Oxford Street itself is a major road in the West End of London running between Marble Arch and Tottenham Court Road, and is considered Europe's busiest shopping street. [6][11]
