Two women who died while trying to intervene during a mass shooting in Erie, Pennsylvania, have been identified by family members following a attack that left nine people dead, the New York Post reported. The shooter, described as a 45-year-old grandfather, turned the gun on himself after killing nine people on Friday night, including two children and a pregnant woman. [1]
The New York Post reported that 37-year-old Lora Roberts and 51-year-old Twila Tanner were identified through online fundraising campaigns as the friends who rushed to the Erie home. The two women attempted to save the niece of Roberts during the ongoing shooting. Loved ones stated that Roberts was a mother of five who had been engaged to her fiancé for 14 years. It is believed that the two friends were the last victims killed before the gunman died by suicide. [1]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, a separate suspected murder suicide occurred in Douglas, Georgia, on Friday night, where police found five people dead with gunshot wounds shortly after 11:00 p.m. In another recent incident reported by FTMQ News, a mother in Cocoa, Florida, discovered her ex-partner, 37-year-old Joseph Dingwall, and their two young children dead from gunshot wounds inside a home on Wednesday afternoon.
