Eleven people were killed and 27 injured on Sunday morning when a tour bus collided with a truck in western Turkey. According to Al Jazeera, the crash happened near toll booths at Akhisar on the Gebze-Orhangazi-Izmir highway. The South China Morning Post reported that the coach crashed near the entry to a motorway between the city of Bursa and the seaside city of Izmir. The Manisa governor office received a report of the collision shortly after 11:00 am local time. [1][2]
The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment, Al Jazeera reported. Emergency services responded to the scene, where images showed body bags placed alongside the roadside next to the overturned vehicle. [1]
