Soldiers disarm woman after crash and knife attack on Washington freeway

Two soldiers tackled and disarmed a 35-year-old woman after she allegedly stabbed a nine-year-old girl following a rollover crash on a Washington state freeway. The New York Post and Fox News both reported that the incident occurred on southbound Interstate 5 near DuPont on Monday morning. [1][2]

According to reports from FOX 13 Seattle cited by both the New York Post and Fox News, the woman from Steilacoom sent her SUV into a semi-truck before it rolled over. Following the crash, she allegedly threatened two girls with a knife. [1][2]

The nine-year-old girl suffered multiple broken bones and a stab wound, as reported by the New York Post and Fox News citing FOX 13 Seattle. A 15-year-old girl was also hospitalized without serious injuries, according to the New York Post. [1][2]

The New York Post and Fox News both noted that the two men who intervened were soldiers from Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The New York Post added that driver Nathan Wilkinson told KING 5 he came upon the wreck while driving to work. [1][2]
