LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman has contributed at least 11.5 million dollars to a super PAC supporting Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico, according to the New York Post. Federal Election Commission filings show that Hoffman cut a 10 million dollar check to Lone Star Rising PAC in June 2026. Talarico is currently competing against Republican candidate Ken Paxton for a seat in the United States Senate. [1][8]
The New York Post reported that Lone Star Rising PAC spent nearly 4.5 million dollars opposing Representative Jasmine Crockett before Talarico defeated her in the Democratic primary. The super PAC has since shifted its spending toward opposing Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. Meanwhile, the Washington Examiner reported that President Donald Trump and Paxton have raised questions about Talarico missing recent campaign stops. [1][2][8]
According to the Washington Examiner, Talarico explained during a forum that he canceled two campaign events due to contracting the flu. Despite his illness, Trump posted on Truth Social that Talarico was missing in action. Campaign records and media reports highlight an ongoing fight between both parties with less than a month remaining before Election Day. [2]
As FTMQ News reported earlier, Paxton recently warned donors about a large campaign spending gap against Talarico, despite polling showing Paxton trailing the Democratic nominee. Trump recently appeared at a rally in San Antonio to support Paxton, where AP News and FTMQ News noted that multiple protesters interrupted the event. [7][11][12]
