At least three protesters interrupted President Donald Trump during a campaign event in Texas on Wednesday night, according to the Daily Mail and the Guardian. Protesters yelled at the president within minutes of him taking the stage. Trump stopped his speech briefly to address the interruptions and claimed without evidence that the demonstrators were paid, the Daily Mail and the Guardian reported. [1][5]

The rally took place in San Antonio, as reported by The Hill and MSNBC. The Daily Mail noted that during his speech, Trump attacked Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. Talarico is currently leading Trump's endorsed candidate, Republican Ken Paxton, in polling for the United States Senate race, the Daily Mail reported. [1][3][4]

The event marked Trump's third trip to Texas in less than a month, according to Reuters and CNN. Reuters and MSNBC reported that Republicans likely need to hold the Texas Senate seat to maintain their majority in the Senate. Trump had previously backed Paxton to defeat Senator John Cornyn in the Republican primary, MSNBC reported. [3][4][6]
