Pakistan defeated England in a one-day international match in Lahore on Sunday following a last-wicket partnership. The BBC and The Guardian both reported that Harry Brook's England team lost despite reducing Pakistan to 154-9 as they attempted to chase down a target of 242 runs. The victory allowed Pakistan to book their place in the final, according to The Guardian. [1][2]

Shadab Khan led the recovery for Pakistan by scoring an unbeaten 113, which BBC News noted as the highest score by a number eight batsman in a one-day international. The Herts Advertiser and The Bury Times both reported that the century was the maiden hundred for Shadab Khan in this format. [1][5][6]

Haris Rauf batted at number 11 and contributed seven runs to an unbroken 10th-wicket partnership of 89 runs, BBC News reported. BBC News and The Guardian both confirmed that the 89-run stand established a new record for a last-wicket partnership. [1][2]

The defeat comes three days after England conceded 430 runs in a loss against Sri Lanka, according to BBC News. As FTMQ News reported earlier, England also lost their opening match of the one-day tri-series to Pakistan by 87 runs in Rawalpindi. [1][10]
