The United States Department of Justice has received thousands of tips within days of launching a new fraud whistleblower initiative, Fox News reported. Colin McDonald, the Assistant Attorney General for the National Fraud Enforcement Division, made the announcement on Saturday during an appearance on My View with Lara Trump. McDonald called the cash incentive initiative a novel approach to try new things to combat fraudsters. [1]

McDonald stated that federal authorities previously relied on the same old approach while fraudsters were constantly evolving their tactics, Fox News reported. The new initiative uses an upfront payment system designed to encourage tipsters to report fraudulent activity directly to federal investigators. [1]

As FTMQ News reported earlier, the Trump administration recently unveiled the program, known as the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program or WHIP. The 25 million dollar initiative was announced by President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. It offers eligible tipsters cash rewards of up to 30,000 dollars for information that leads to a federal fraud conviction. [1][11]

Donald Trump has granted executive clemency to more than 1,700 individuals charged or convicted of federal criminal offenses, including white-collar fraud cases, during his second presidency. In many instances, he removed requirements for those individuals to pay restitution and fines. [10]
