Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has filed a lawsuit against the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department to permanently seal video evidence and records from a domestic battery case, Fox News, the New York Post, and the Daily Mail reported. The civil complaint was filed on Wednesday in Brown County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. Jacobs is seeking a permanent injunction and protective order to prevent authorities from publicly releasing recordings, images, or descriptions related to the investigation. [1][2][4]

The legal action follows an incident at his home on May 23, according to the New York Post. The criminal complaint alleges that Jacobs threw his former girlfriend onto the ground and damaged her mobile phone, Fox News reported. Garage video captured a portion of the dispute. The Daily Mail noted that Jacobs has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property. [1][2][4]

The NFL is currently attempting to obtain the video footage as part of an official personal conduct investigation, according to Fox News and CBS Sports. CBS Sports reported that Jacobs remains on the NFL commissioner's exempt list with no timetable set for his return. Jacobs joined the Green Bay Packers in 2024 after playing five seasons for the Raiders, who originally selected him in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. [1][5][11]
