The ninth ranked Ole Miss Rebels football team defeated the 13th ranked Missouri Tigers 31 to 3 on Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi. Fox News, Yahoo Sports, and The Clarion Ledger all reported on the victory, which featured 31 unanswered points from Ole Miss. The game marked the return of Missouri quarterback Austin Simmons to Vaught Hemingway Stadium to face his former program, as CBS Sports noted. [1][2][4][9][10][13]

According to Fox News, the Ole Miss defense under head coach Pete Golding held Missouri to just 39 rushing yards during the game. Fox News reported that Golding's defense completely smothered Missouri's high powered rushing attack and quarterback Austin Simmons, just three weeks after the Rebels allowed 52 points against Florida. On offense, Trinidad Chambliss led Ole Miss after overcoming a slow start, according to The Clarion Ledger. ESPN reported that Chambliss accounted for four touchdowns during the game to build the decisive margin. [10][12]

CBS Sports noted that Missouri entered the contest with a 5 and 1 record, while Ole Miss held a 4 and 1 record before the game. The University of Mississippi is located in Oxford, Mississippi. [2][4][13]
